FC Halifax Town has officially announced the acquisition of centre-back Jo Cummings, marking his arrival after being released from his previous team, Boston United, in the National League North.
Cummings kick-started his career in the Sheffield United academy and made his debut in the EFL Trophy during an impressive 4-2 victory over Grimsby Town back in November 2016. He then transitioned to Charlton Athletic in League One in 2017 and had a brief stint at Guiseley in the National League North on a one-month loan deal. Following his time at Charlton, Cummings moved to Scunthorpe United in League Two during the Summer of 2019.
The defender’s journey continued with a loan move to Radcliffe in the Northern Premier League Premier Division in March 2020, which later became a permanent transfer in the subsequent Summer. He subsequently made a switch to Sheffield FC, joining the Northern Premier League Division One East for the following season.
Following his time at Sheffield, Cummings signed with Spennymoor Town, competing in the National League North, before the 2022/23 campaign commenced. However, his stay with The Moors was brief, and he made just five appearances before moving on to Boston United in November 2022. Cummings played 15 games for The Pilgrims in the last season, scoring one goal as the team secured a 15th-place finish in the National League North.
