In the early hours of this morning, a tragic road traffic collision claimed the life of a young man, prompting the Major Collision Enquiry Team to appeal for witnesses who can aid in their investigation.

The incident occurred just before 12:40 am on Dewsbury Road, Leeds, where a white Renault Kangoo and a blue Nissan Micra, both travelling westbound, collided in close proximity to the junction of Grovehall Drive.

As a result of the collision, the Nissan Micra veered into parked vehicles and a garden wall, while the Renault Kangoo overturned on the road.

Emergency services promptly responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the Kangoo’s driver, a man in his twenties. However, despite their efforts, the young man tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Fortunately, the occupants of the Nissan Micra sustained only minor injuries. Nevertheless, the gravity of the situation has led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with the collision.

Authorities are currently undertaking inquiries to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are urging anyone who may possess valuable information regarding the collision or might have observed either of the vehicles before the accident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
