Police authorities in Calderdale are urgently seeking information from the public following an incident where a car was vandalised in Illingworth. The incident occurred on Keighley Road, just after 6 pm on Sunday, 9th July.

According to reports, a male pedestrian approached a Mercedes car that was stationary at a set of temporary traffic lights, heading towards Cousin Lane. In a sudden act of aggression, the pedestrian struck a bottle onto the bonnet of the car. As if that wasn’t enough, the suspect further damaged the vehicle by scratching the car’s glass before making a hasty exit from the scene on foot.

Detectives involved in the case revealed that there were other vehicles queued up at the traffic lights when the incident transpired, raising concerns about potential witnesses who may have valuable information to share.

In response to the incident, the police are urging anyone who witnessed the vandalism or has relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
