Bradford College is currently accepting applications for an exclusive graduate workshop scheduled to take place in July. The three-day program, named ‘Graduates First,’ aims to provide recent graduates with valuable guidance in refining their curriculum vitae (CVs), sharpening their interview skills, and charting their desired career paths.

Tailored specifically for individuals who have recently completed their studies and are seeking assistance with career planning and realising their professional aspirations, the ‘Graduates First’ course promises to be an invaluable resource. Hosted both at the Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) and virtually, Bradford College will provide informative support and training sessions throughout the duration of the program.

On the first day of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn essential skills such as CV writing, completing application forms, and garnering valuable tips for successful interviews. These initial sessions aim to equip attendees with the necessary tools to effectively present themselves on paper and in person.

Day two of the program will focus on career planning, personal SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset within the workplace, fostering commercial awareness, utilising social media for self-promotion, building networks, expanding knowledge, and perfecting an impactful elevator pitch. The comprehensive range of topics covered during this day ensures that graduates gain a holistic understanding of the various elements crucial for career success.

The final day of the workshop will culminate in a series of mock interviews. These practice interviews aim to provide participants with the necessary skills and confidence to effectively present themselves amidst the competitive job market. By honing their interview techniques, graduates will gain a distinct advantage when pursuing their desired roles.

To be eligible for the free ‘Graduates First’ program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a degree or have graduated within the past five years.
  • Reside in the West Yorkshire region, regardless of the university attended.
