Police in Huddersfield are appealing for witnesses after an aggravated burglary occurred at a property. Kirklees CID is requesting anyone with information about an incident on Newsome Road, Huddersfield, which happened around 11:10 p.m. on Monday, July 10, to come forward.

Upon receiving a report, officers were dispatched to the address where a group of three to four men had forcibly entered the property. The victims inside were threatened with weapons, including a baseball bat.

Before the police arrived, the suspects had fled. However, during a search of the premises, officers discovered the remnants of a cannabis factory.

After conducting a thorough search, two victims from the aggravated burglary were found in an unoccupied nearby house on the same road. One of the victims had sustained significant arm injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Subsequently, both victims were arrested on charges related to drugs. The police are currently present at the scene, continuing their forensic investigations into the burglary and drug offences.

Detective Inspector Matthew Sykes of Kirklees CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate what took place on Newsome Road and are treating the break-in and assault on the victim as a targeted incident.

“I would like to speak to anyone who saw suspects outside the house which was broken into just prior to the incident or those persons fleeing the scene,
