Authorities are urging members of the public to come forward with any information following a severe road traffic collision that occurred over the weekend, leaving two individuals with life-threatening injuries. The incident took place at approximately 5:50 PM on Saturday on Thick Hollins Road in Meltham.
The collision involved a red Vauxhall Astra and unfolded as the vehicle, occupied by five individuals, was travelling from Holmfirth towards Meltham. While approaching a downhill bend to the right, the car is believed to have collided with a wall, subsequently flipping multiple times before finally coming to a stop on its wheels.
Trapped within the wreckage, the 19-year-old male driver and a 17-year-old male passenger seated in the rear sustained severe life-threatening injuries. Swift action was taken to transport them to a nearby hospital via air ambulance. The remaining three occupants were conveyed to the hospital by traditional ambulance services.
