Thackley AFC is thrilled to announce the acquisition of goalkeeper Alfie Darke, who has officially joined the club after a year-long absence from the game due to a severe injury. Darke, who is currently in the process of recovering from his injury, will continue his rehabilitation with the Dennyboys and bring healthy competition to Luke Wilson for the goalkeeper position.

The decision to bring in Darke comes in light of Callum Bradbury, last season’s Reserve Team goalkeeper and backup for the First Team, expressing his desire to explore other opportunities in order to gain more playing time. The club extends its gratitude and best wishes to Bradbury as he departs. Darke’s arrival is a welcomed addition to bolster the specialist goalkeeping position and provide valuable backup for the team.

Notably, Darke has previously worked with our current Joint Manager Danny Forrest during his time at Silsden AFC in 2019. Prior to that, he showcased his skills as part of the Bradford City Youth Team. With his experience and talent, Darke is expected to make a significant contribution to the Thackley AFC squad.

The signing of Alfie Darke demonstrates Thackley AFC’s commitment to strengthening the team and ensuring a competitive edge for the upcoming season. Fans are eagerly anticipating his return to the field and the positive impact he will have on the Dennyboys’ performance.

Thackley AFC remains focused on building a formidable squad and maintaining its position as a leading football club. With Darke’s addition, the team is optimistic about its prospects for the future and looks forward to an exciting season ahead.
