Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has announced the appointment of Professor Louise Bryant as its new non-executive director (NED) from the prestigious University of Leeds, School of Medicine. With a strong background in academic psychology, her research primarily focuses on screening in pregnancy and the health inequalities experienced by individuals with a learning disability.
In addition to her academic commitments, Professor Bryant actively contributes to national healthcare initiatives. She is a distinguished member of the UK National Screening Committee and serves as an advisor to the Department of Health and Social Care’s Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme (FASP). Notably, she chairs the FASP Information and Education sub-group, which oversees the development of evidence-based, high-quality information for women and their partners. Furthermore, she leads efforts in education and training for healthcare professionals involved in screening.
