In an exciting announcement, ITV1 and ITVX have revealed the title of their highly anticipated new dating show, “My Mum, Your Dad,” which will be hosted by the beloved presenter, Davina McCall. Produced by Lifted Entertainment, a part of ITV Studios, this groundbreaking series, formerly known as ‘The Romance Retreat,’ is scheduled to air on both ITV1 and ITVX this autumn.
“My Mum, Your Dad” is not your typical dating show—it’s a unique concept designed to captivate audiences of all ages. The show follows a group of single parents who have been nominated by their adult children for a second chance at finding love. Over the course of 10 hour-long episodes, viewers will have the opportunity to observe these single parents, hailing from various backgrounds across the United Kingdom, as they cohabit in a picturesque country house retreat. Their common goal? To discover true love.
However, there’s a twist that adds an extra layer of intrigue. Unbeknownst to the parents, their children will be monitoring their every move from a nearby location known as ‘The Bunker.’ From this surveillance room, the kids will witness all the romantic endeavours of their parents and even have the chance to influence their dating fate by playing matchmaker. They’ll be able to select potential matches for their mothers or fathers, deciding who gets to go on one-on-one dates and potentially become a part of their family’s future.
From heartwarming confessions to comical moments, the children will witness their parents in a whole new light. They’ll experience the highs and lows, the tears and the laughter, as their parents navigate the journey of finding love once again.
Lifted Entertainment, a division of ITV Studios, will be responsible for producing “My Mum, Your Dad.” The series is helmed by Executive Producers Ami Jackson and Ros Coward, with Paul Hepplewhite serving as the Series Producer. ITV commissioned the show for broadcast, with Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning, and Amanda Stavri, Commissioning Editor of Reality TV, overseeing the process. International distribution will be handled by ITV Studios.
