Following a highly successful first series, BBC One Daytime has officially commissioned the second series of “The Travelling Auctioneers” from STV Studios, featuring an exciting new presenting line-up. The auctioneering expert and original Travelling Auctioneer, Christina Trevanion, will be returning for the 20-episode series, each running for 45 minutes.

Joining Christina on the show is JJ Chalmers, a former craft, design, and technology teacher, who rose to fame after winning a gold medal at the Invictus Games and making waves on the dance floor of “Strictly Come Dancing.” JJ plans to bring his wide range of DIY and restoration skills to the Travelling Auctioneers team, adding a unique perspective to the show.

Another addition to the team is Robin, a restoration maestro renowned for his work on Quest’s “The Woodland Workshop.” Before setting up his own successful business specialising in bespoke metal and wood furniture, Robin also worked as a design and technology teacher. His expertise in restoration will undoubtedly breathe new life into neglected treasures.

Joining the team of experts is Izzie Balmer, one of the UK’s most popular auctioneering specialists, well-known for her appearances on “Antiques Road Trip” and “Bargain Hunt.” In addition to her television work, Izzie leads a specialist jewelry and silver department in a bustling Wiltshire salesroom, making her a valuable asset to the Travelling Auctioneers.

In the upcoming series, Christina, JJ, Robin, and Izzie will split into pairs and take their travelling auction house and workshop on the road across the UK. Their journey will lead them to various locations where they’ll unearth hidden gems and transform unwanted items into valuable lots.

The team’s first task will be to sift through one family home at a time, carefully identifying items with the highest selling potential. Christina and Izzie will leverage their auctioneer contacts and expertise, while JJ and Robin will utilise their exceptional craft and restoration skills to revitalise neglected treasures. Each episode will culminate in an exhilarating on-site auction, where the restored items will be showcased and sold.

Rob Unsworth, the Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning for BBC One and iPlayer, expressed his excitement about the show’s return. The Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime, Muslim Alim, added that the new presenting line-up would captivate audiences with their specialised knowledge and bring forgotten items back to life.

STV Studios’ Executive Producer, John Redshaw, expressed his delight with the show’s popularity and extended order. He praised the new presenting team, referring to them as an “Auctioneering A-Team,” and promised that the second series would uncover even more heartwarming stories and take the show to new heights.
