Leeds District Police have launched an appeal for information after a disturbing incident in which two teenagers sustained injuries during a serious assault. Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses relevant information to come forward.

The assault occurred on Compton Road, Harehills, between 7:40 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. on Monday, May 29. The victims, aged 14 and 15, were reportedly chased by masked individuals riding a moped. The pursuit concluded when the assailants attacked the teenagers with a bladed weapon in the garden of a property.

Both victims were promptly rushed to the hospital for medical attention. The 14-year-old was discharged shortly after receiving treatment for superficial injuries. Meanwhile, the 15-year-old is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Ryan Malyk from Leeds District CID emphasised the gravity of the incident, stating, “All incidents involving weapons are treated extremely seriously by Leeds District Police, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries into what took place. Clearly, this incident had the potential to have a much worse outcome, and I would like to speak with anyone who saw what happened or who has any relevant CCTV or mobile phone footage.”
