A teenager from Bradford has been sentenced for a serious assault on Ivegate in Bradford last year.

A 48-year-old man was stabbed at around 5.45pm on 25 August. He suffered serious injuries at the time. He has since recovered from his injuries.

The 17-year-old who we can’t name for legal reasons pleaded guilty to a section 18 assault at Bradford Crown Court on 28 February.

Today at Bradford Crown Court he was sentenced to an 18-month rehabilitation order.

Detective Inspector Karl Noglik of Bradford CID said; “The was an awful incident to happen in broad daylight in front of shoppers in the city centre.

“Emergency first aid was given at the scene by two members of the public then followed by Police officers, this undoubtedly saved the victim’s life.

“I hope today will give the victim some closure on what has been a truly harrowing ordeal for him.”
