As reported exclusively on Steph’s Packed Lunch, the renowned Gladiators game show is set to return with a fresh dose of adrenaline-fueled action. Three formidable competitors, Sabre, Apollo, and Dynamite, have been announced as the latest additions to the Gladiators roster. Brace yourselves as these fierce warriors gear up to take on challengers at the Sheffield arena in one of the most exhilarating displays of athleticism.

Sabre, embodying the traits of fierceness, power, and agility, is none other than Sheli McCoy herself. Known for her unwavering determination, McCoy labels herself a “grafter,” dedicating an impressive 16-19 hours per week to training. She boasts an impressive track record, having participated in five British Weightlifting Championships and multiple CrossFit tournaments worldwide. McCoy’s dominance extends to Scottish championships in both sports, and she even runs her own gym in Dundee, aiming to inspire future generations to unlock their fitness potential. Beware, contenders, for Sabre strikes fear into the hearts of those who dare to face her. Once she has you in her sights, there is no escape.

Sabre, also known as Sheli McCoy, shares her aspirations, stating, “I truly hope Sabre will inspire and empower the younger generation of strong capable females, just as the Gladiators I once watched inspired me to be a confident athletic woman. It is Sabre’s time to shine – here come the powerful girls!”

With the dashing looks of a Greek god and the swiftness of a rocket, Alex Gray aptly dons the moniker Apollo. Gray embarked on his career playing rugby, beginning with the under-16s and eventually making his way to the Premiership and the England 7s team. He demonstrated exceptional skill, leading to a notable achievement: becoming the first British rugby player to transition to the NFL. After signing with the Atlanta Falcons, Gray made history once again by becoming the first international player to captain an NFL team. Driven by an unrelenting thirst for victory, Apollo trains tirelessly and possesses an unwavering competitive spirit. Don’t be fooled by his charming smile, for if you stand in his way, he will take you down.

Apollo, or Alex Gray, exclaims, “Gladiator ready?? You better believe I am!! After playing Rugby and in the NFL, the opportunity to inspire as Apollo is a dream come true. I plan on leading from the front and never giving up.”

Meet Dynamite, the youngest member of the current Gladiators lineup. Emily Steel, aged 20, personifies the explosive and dangerous nature of her namesake. Despite her age, Steel’s achievements are remarkable. With a background in competitive swimming at the national level until the age of 15, she has since become a full-time elite CrossFit athlete while pursuing her second-year studies in sport and exercise science at university. Steel has recently showcased her talents internationally at a renowned fitness festival and even holds the British record for weightlifting in the under 23’s category. Don’t underestimate Dynamite’s small stature, for she will charge into the competition, leaving her opponents obliterated in her wake.

Dynamite, or Emily Steel, reveals her excitement, stating, “I’m too young to remember the original Gladiators, but my parents loved it and suggested I try out. Dynamite really does represent who I am, and I’m excited to showcase what I can do in the games.”

Sabre, Apollo, and Dynamite now join the previously announced Gladiators Nitro, Diamond, Giant, Fire, Legend, Fury, and Steel. Together, they form a new generation of mighty warriors ready to take on a courageous group of contenders in an 11-part series. The show is produced by Hungry Bear Media and MGM Alternative UK, promising a thrilling test of speed and strength through a combination of brand new games and beloved classics. The excitement will culminate in the fan-favourite event, The Eliminator.
