Lucy Benjamin is reprising her role as the troubled Lisa Fowler, marking her comeback after a hiatus of three years. Previously, she assisted her daughter in escaping Walford in early 2020 alongside ex-fiancé Phil, as Louise grew convinced of her involvement in Keanu’s alleged murder. Since then, Lisa and Phil have been raising baby Peggy in Portugal, unaware that Keanu had survived the orchestrated assassination by Martin Fowler, who staged his death and enabled him to escape the clutches of danger.
Although Lisa’s motivations for seeking out Keanu remain unclear, one thing is certain: wherever Lisa goes, trouble inevitably follows.
Expressing her excitement about returning to the role of Lisa Fowler, Lucy Benjamin shared, “I can’t wait to make my return as Lisa Fowler again after leaving for Spain with Louise and granddaughter Peggy, back in 2019. No doubt, in true Lisa fashion, she will bring with her plenty of drama for many of the characters on the Square, which is why playing her is such a delight.”
Chris Clenshaw, the Executive Producer of the show, expressed his delight at welcoming Lucy back to the iconic role of Lisa Fowler. The character was last seen three years ago when Lisa and Louise fled Walford, prompted by the revelation of Sharon and Keanu’s affair during Christmas. Clenshaw further conveyed his thrill in having Lucy back for a short stint, emphasising the anticipated trouble that Lisa and granddaughter Peggy would stir between the content couple.
