L-r Anjed Zaman, Jen Lee and Patricia Obawole

Bradford-based law firm LCF Law has recently announced three significant promotions within its personal and corporate divisions. Amjed Zaman has been promoted to partner, while Jennifer Lee and Patricia Obawole have both been promoted to the position of associate.

Amjed Zaman has been an integral part of LCF Law’s personal law team for eight years. Working from the firm’s Bradford office, his area of specialisation lies in wills and probate, particularly focusing on cross-border and international estates. He provides expert advice on succession and tax planning for both UK clients with overseas assets and overseas clients with assets in the UK. Amjed serves clients from diverse backgrounds and various jurisdictions, taking into account their religious and ethnic considerations.

Apart from his legal responsibilities, Amjed also plays a crucial role in training and mentoring LCF Law’s trainee solicitors. Additionally, he has made significant contributions to the firm’s business development activities, showcasing his active and successful involvement in this area.

Both Jennifer and Patricia have achieved remarkable career progression within LCF Law. Jennifer Lee, based in Bradford, joined the firm as a trainee and subsequently became a part of the LCF Residential conveyancing division in 2014. She was offered a training contract in 2015 and later transitioned into the real estate team before moving into personal law in 2019. Jennifer now assists individuals and families in managing their affairs and planning for the future. Her responsibilities include guiding clients through the process of creating wills and establishing powers of attorney. Additionally, Jennifer specialises in probate work, offering support to clients during emotionally challenging times and overseeing estate administrations.

Patricia Obawole, who joined LCF Law as a trainee in 2017, qualified in 2019 and joined the corporate team. Her primary focus now lies in working with businesses and charities, providing valuable advice on formations, structures, share capital management, and guiding clients through restructures. Patricia’s responsibilities also extend to drafting essential legal documents such as articles of association, shareholders’ agreements, and investment contracts.

Both Jennifer and Patricia actively contribute to LCF Law’s social committee and organise the well-regarded “Next Generation Networking” events. These events cater to young professionals in Yorkshire who have up to five years of work experience. Furthermore, Jennifer is a Board of Trustees member for Age UK Bradford District, an organisation dedicated to offering vital services to older individuals within the local community.

Expressing his gratitude, Amjed stated, “After joining LCF Law in 2015 as a newly qualified solicitor, through hard work and with wonderful support and guidance, it’s a huge honour and privilege to be promoted to partner. Our team is renowned for its depth and expertise, and I’m looking forward to building on this reputation further.”

Simon Stell, the managing partner at LCF Law, commended Amjed’s exceptional contributions and expressed his satisfaction in promoting him to the position of partner. Stell also acknowledged Amjed’s dedication to his clients and colleagues, emphasising his role as a mentor for junior team members. The promotion is seen as a fitting reward for Amjed’s valuable contributions and is expected to propel his career to new heights.

Stell further praised Jennifer and Patricia for their impressive achievements and positive impact since joining LCF Law as trainees. Their promotions are a testament to their legal expertise, diligent work, and exceptional care for clients. Stell highlighted the high regard in which Jennifer and Patricia are held by their clients, fellow professionals, and colleagues.

Earlier this month, LCF Law received recognition for its outstanding workplace environment. The firm was named as one of the UK’s best places to work in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list for medium-sized companies. This prestigious guide surveys employee opinions from various industries, and LCF Law’s inclusion underscores its commitment to providing a favourable and supportive working environment.

With these recent promotions and the firm’s growing reputation, LCF Law continues to strengthen its position in the legal industry, delivering exceptional legal services and maintaining an excellent workplace culture.
