A Kirklees man was scheduled to appear before magistrates today, Wednesday, May 17, facing charges related to the murder of a man and woman from Huddersfield.
Marcus Osbourne, 34, residing in Harpe Inge, Dalton, was due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court.
The charges against him involve the alleged killing of Katie Higton, 27, and Steven Harnett, 25, at a residence on Harpe Inge between Sunday, May 14, and Monday, May 15.
Additionally, Osbourne faced accusations of assaulting and unlawfully detaining a second woman in the property on the night of the murders.
Authorities were alerted to the distressing incident at Harpe Inge at 9:53 a.m. on Monday, following an emergency call made by paramedics who discovered the lifeless bodies of the male and female victims inside the premises.
Subsequent investigations revealed that both individuals had succumbed to multiple injuries at the scene.
The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is actively conducting inquiries into these tragic offences. The investigation is ongoing as they seek to gather further evidence and unravel the circumstances surrounding this shocking incident.
