Keighley Cougars has announced the immediate departure of their head coach, Rhys Lovegrove. The decision comes as disappointing results failed to mirror the dedication and commitment Lovegrove had exhibited during his tenure.
The club’s CEO, Ryan O’Neill, expressed gratitude for Lovegrove’s service and wished him the very best.
Lovegrove, who led the club as head coach for four years, regarded the experience as an honour and privilege.
He extended his appreciation to the performance staff, who often went above and beyond, as well as the players. Lovegrove conveyed his good wishes to all involved in their future endeavours.
In the interim, Assistant Coach and Jamaica International, Jy-mel Coleman, will assume the role of head coach with the support of Jordie Hedges, Dean Muir, and Jake Webster, who takes on the position of Director of Rugby.
To address fans’ inquiries, the club will soon announce a Q&A session where board members and staff will be available to engage in a discussion-style format.
