The Alhambra Theatre in Bradford is eagerly preparing to welcome the sensational musical production of Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story as part of its UK tour. This West End and Broadway smash-hit has captivated both critics and audiences alike with its enthralling portrayal of the life and legacy of music icon Buddy Holly.

The show traces his remarkable journey from a young Southern rockabilly artist to worldwide fame, culminating in his tragic final performance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, before his untimely death at the tender age of 22.

Hailing from Lubbock, Texas, Buddy Holly revolutionised contemporary music in a mere 18 months, leaving an indelible mark on the industry and influencing legendary artists such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, and the Rolling Stones.

Presented by a talented cast of actor-musicians, Buddy delivers an unforgettable experience with over 20 of Holly’s greatest hits, including timeless classics such as “That’ll Be The Day,” “Peggy Sue,” “Oh Boy,” “Everyday,” and “Rave On.” Audiences can also anticipate crowd-pleasers like the Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace” and Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba,” alongside electrifying renditions of “Shout” and “Johnny B. Goode.” This stellar musical lineup ensures a night of family entertainment that should not be missed.

AJ Jenks and Christopher Weeks will take turns in reprising the role of Buddy Holly on alternate performances. The talented cast also includes Joe Butcher as Joe B. Mauldin, Josh Haberfield as Jerry Allison, Daniella Agredo Piper as Maria Elena Holly, Miguel Angel as Ritchie Valens/Tyrone Jones, and Christopher Chandler as JP Richardson, famously known as ‘The Big Bopper.’
