Production is now underway on the highly anticipated BBC Three comedy series, “Such Brave Girls,” created by Kat Sadler and produced by Various Artists Ltd in association with A24. The show promises to explore the messy intricacies of life and love, showcasing the audacious and fearless journey of its protagonists.

Starring Kat Sadler as Josie, the series follows the lives of Josie, her sister Billie (played by Lizzie Davidson), and their determined mother, Deb (portrayed by Louise Brealey). Together, they embark on a courageous quest to attain a better life, defying societal norms and expectations along the way. Guided by their innate ability to push boundaries, these exceptionally brave girls dive headfirst into self-discovery, leaving viewers pondering whether their choices are truly justified.

According to Sadler, “Such Brave Girls” is ultimately a family sitcom centred around the theme of trauma, yet it humorously exposes the characters’ self-absorbed nature and their excessive concern for public opinion. With her distinctive voice, Sadler aims to captivate BBC viewers with her innovative approach to comedy.

Jon Petrie, Director of BBC Comedy, expressed his pride in supporting Sadler’s daring new project, highlighting her exceptional talent as a uniquely British voice that is destined to resonate with audiences.

Phil Clarke, Executive Producer at Various Artists Ltd, lauds Sadler’s writing as completely original, dark, and immensely funny. Describing the series as a groundbreaking family sitcom, Clarke emphasises its brave, honest, and contemporary nature, making it a standout in the world of television comedy.

Sharing similar sentiments, Jack Bayles, also an Executive Producer at Various Artists Ltd, praises Sadler’s creation as a remarkable comedy gem. With its timely and thought-provoking narrative, “Such Brave Girls” promises to captivate viewers while delivering razor-sharp humour. Bayles expresses great enthusiasm for the collaboration with Sadler on this project.
