Farsley Celtic is thrilled to announce the acquisition of talented left back, George Smith. The Barnsley-born footballer, who began his career with his hometown club, has joined Farsley after a successful stint with Gateshead.
Smith, who made his mark in League One with 44 appearances for the Tykes between 2014 and 2016, displayed great potential early on. Following his time at Barnsley, he made the move to Gateshead, where he became an integral part of the team. In the 2016/17 season, he contributed significantly with 38 appearances and even scored his first professional goal.
The left back’s impressive performances caught the attention of Northampton Town, prompting his return to League One. However, Smith’s football journey also includes representing clubs such as Chesterfield, Dover Athletic, Boston United, Darlington, and Harrogate Town. His dynamic attacking style and robust defending have made him a formidable force on the field.
