Brighouse Pool and Fitness Centre in West Yorkshire is set to provide an enhanced fitness experience following a substantial investment by Calderdale Council. Over £100,000 has been allocated to the centre, enabling the installation of new state-of-the-art gym equipment.
The gym at Brighouse Fitness Centre has received an impressive upgrade, with the inclusion of new treadmills, bikes, and cross-trainers. These machines are equipped with integrated screens, allowing users to access various features such as classes, profile-based exercises, ‘outdoor’ routes, and popular streaming platforms like YouTube and Netflix.
To further assist gym-goers, all the new equipment seamlessly syncs with the existing Technogym app. This app provides comprehensive workout routines and enables users to track their activities and overall lifestyle. The revamped gym is open to both existing and new members of the Council’s sports service, as well as casual users.
To ensure a smooth transition and optimal usage of the upgraded facilities, complimentary instructor support is available. Users can easily book these guidance sessions online or through the convenient Calderdale Leisure app.
The recent enhancement of facilities at Brighouse Pool and Fitness Centre is part of Calderdale Council’s ongoing commitment to bolstering its sports service. In collaboration with Calderdale College, the Council has also established a health and wellbeing hub in Halifax.
Five days a week, the College provides a diverse range of fitness activities, including Zumba, dance, yoga, and movement stretch meditation, all organized by the Council’s sports service. This adds to the existing offering of over 90 fitness classes per week across different locations within the borough.
Calderdale Council’s fitness membership packages offer unlimited access to gym facilities, swimming pools, and fitness classes across all Council sites. Starting from just £23 per month, adult memberships can be cancelled at any time. More information can be found at https://www.calderdale.gov.uk/v2/sports-and-fitness.
Cllr Jenny Lynn, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Services and Communities, expressed her enthusiasm for the upgrades, saying, “The fitness industry is fast-paced, and we want to ensure that users of our gym facilities can keep up with the latest trends. The upgrades at our Brighouse site allow users to take advantage of a virtual world of fitness, with integrated screens allowing access to online content, including ‘outdoor’ routes to provide additional motivation.”
Lynn added, “The investment is part of our ongoing commitment to fitness in the borough, with further investment planned at our Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden sites and additional opportunities offered through our new partnership with Calderdale College, enhancing our existing offer of ‘in person’ classes. All our centres are welcoming and have a variety of options to inspire people to be active in a way that suits them. There are flexible membership options available, which include access to all our sites, offering great value for money.”
With the latest upgrades at Brighouse Pool and Fitness Centre, members and visitors alike can look forward to an enhanced fitness experience, incorporating cutting-edge technology and a wide range of exercise options.
