Bradford City has officially announced its retained and released player list for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Several players have been offered new contracts, while others will be leaving the club.

Among those players offered new terms and expected to continue their journey with the team are Alex Gilliead, Andy Cook, Bobby Pointon, Dylan Youmbi, Harvey Rowe, Heath Richardson, and Liam Ridehalgh.

However, the following players have not been offered new contracts and will be released by the club as they prepare for the 2023/24 campaign: Abo Eisa, Adam Clayton, Charlie Wood, Cole Roberts, Jack Wilson, Kian Scales, Oscar Threlkeld, and Yann Songo’o.

A group of players will remain under contract for the 2023/24 season, including Brad Halliday, Ciarán Kelly, Colin Doyle, Emmanuel Osadebe, Finn Cousin-Dawson, Harry Chapman, Harry Lewis, Jake Young, Jamie Walker, Luke Hendrie, Matt Derbyshire, Matty Foulds, Matty Platt, Richie Smallwood, Ryan East, Sam Stubbs, Timi Odusina, and Vadaine Oliver.

Additionally, several academy scholars have been offered professional contracts for the 2023/24 season, signifying their promotion to the senior team. Freddy Jeffreys, Jay Tinsdale, Noah Wadsworth, and Sam Bentley have all received this opportunity.

The club has decided to exercise the option to extend Colin Doyle’s playing contract for another year. In addition to his role as a player, Doyle will continue to serve as City’s goalkeeping coach.

Meanwhile, the loan agreements of Dara Costelloe (Burnley), Dion Pereira (Luton Town), Romoney Crichlow (Huddersfield Town), Scott Banks (Crystal Palace), Thierry Nevers (West Ham United), and Tolaji Bola (Rotherham United) have expired, and they will be departing from Bradford City AFC.
