Wakefield Council will be flying the flag for the district at a national investment trade show.

The Council has teamed up with West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and the region’s other local authorities, to meet potential new investors and employers to boost jobs and business in our district and the wider region, at the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) in Leeds on May 16 -18.

The event which features expert speakers brings together the public sector, investors, funders, developers and housebuilders from across the UK and around the world.

It aims to accelerate the Levelling Up agenda whilst unlocking sustainable investment in projects around the country.

A spokesperson for Wakefield Council said; “We will be championing Wakefield as the obvious place for national and international investment. Our district has a dynamic economy worth £8 billion, is highly accessible with great road and rail connections, and is a key player in the growing and vibrant Leeds City Region.”

Mark Lynam, Corporate Director for Regeneration and Economic Growth said: “We are a place that is ambitious and creative. We get things done and that makes us a great place to do business, invest in and deliver ambitious growth.

“This event is an opportunity for us to attract developers and employers to our district and bring investment and jobs for local people.

“We’ll showcase how we support businesses to help them to innovate, grow and create employment opportunities in our district.

“It will help us to demonstrate how we plan to build on our strong relationships with the private sector, forging new partnerships to attract new inward investment.”
