Three men have been arrested following a fatal crash in Great Horton.

The accident happened on the A647 Great Horton Road close to the junction with Dracup Road at about 1:30am this morning (24/04).

A Volkswagen Golf travelling towards Queensbury hit street furniture and a parked vehicle.

A 20-year-old man travelling in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three men aged 29, 30 and 31 were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Great Horton Road has been closed between Bartle Lane and Havelock Street, including entry, and exit points that lead onto Great Horton Road.

The road closure is expected to remain in place for some time.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said; “The Major Road Collision Enquiry Team is investigating the collision and is appealing for anyone with footage that may assist, or who saw the vehicle immediately prior to the collision, to contact them on 101 or by using the 101LiveChat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.

“The log reference is 79 of 24 April.”
