A 15-year-old male has been arrested after he was captured by police after bailing out of a stolen car which crashed in Lower Wyke.

Police spotted a Nissan Note on cloned plates at New Works Road in Low Moor at around 7:45am yesterday (09/04).

The driver of the vehicle decided not to hang around and failed to stop for the officers.

Police pursued the vehicle around, Wyke, Wibsey, Buttershaw, Woodside and Wyke before it crashed at Lower Wyke.

The occupants ran away from the scene but the passenger was caught.

He was arrested for burglary, attempted burglary and it was later found that he had stolen a car a few days prior.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said; “The vehicle was found to have been stolen from a burglary in Halifax a few days ago.

“He was interviewed and is now bailed for further enquiries with strict conditions.”
