An 18-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill after a man wearing a balaclava and armed with a knife threatened a couple in Halifax.

The incident happened between 5:00pm and 6:00pm on 24th March on Queens Road in Halifax.

The man, who was standing near a cash point, threatened a male and female as they walked towards a takeaway.

The couple went on and was not pursued.

The arrested male has been released under investigation pending continuing enquiries.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said; “Anyone who saw or has information about the incident is asked to contact Calderdale Police on 101 or online at referencing crime number 13230168250.

“Information can also be given anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
