Police are appealing for witnesses following a violent disorder incident in the Dalton area of Huddersfield.

Kirklees CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about what took place as active enquiries continue into the incident on North Carr in the early hours of Thursday morning ( April 20).

Police were called at 1:46am to reports that a 21-year-old man had suffered serious injuries following a disorder incident in the street.

A number of persons were reported to have fled the scene in a silver car.

Emergency services attended and located a man in his 20s who had suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries including stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police later attended at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary at 1:53am after four men aged between 20 and 27 attended there in a car.

Two of the men had received serious but non-life-threatening knife injuries and are receiving treatment.

Detectives are linking the two incidents and have arrested the five men.

Detective Inspector James Bellhouse of Kirklees CID, said: “Detectives are conducting a range of enquiries into this violent disorder incident and have arrested five men in connection with what took place.
“We continue to investigate the precise circumstances of what took place on North Carr and I would like to speak to anyone who can assist enquiries but has not yet contacted us.
